The Reedham Group of Mills (Polkey’s, Cadge’s, Reedham Marsh Steam Engine House and Seven Mile Diesels

This group of newly restored buildings will be open on National Mills Weekend Sunday 10 May 2.00 – 5.00pm. Access by boat or Wherryman’s Way riverside walk. No vehicular access.

St.Olaves Drainage Mill

This tiny, timber boarded trestle drainage mill with a scoopwheel is visible from road and river and can be approached by footpath from the bridge. It is situated on the east bank of the River Waveney, just below St Olaves' bridge on the A143. Major works are underway to repair storm damage.

Stracey Arms Drainage Mill

Situated on the A47. Open to the public from Easter until the end of September daily between 9.00 and 8pm, subject to completion of Phase 1 repairs. The mill has just been jacked back upright and the mill is not yet available to visit but the shop and tearoom are still open. Please telephone 01603 222705 for confirmation. Visits at other times by arrangement with the Trust. Free Moorings. Tearoom and shop selling refreshments. Exhibition on drainage mills of the Broads.

Thurne Dyke Drainage Mill

Open April to end September, 2nd and 4th Sunday in month, 2.00 - 5.00pm or by appointment.  Open National Mills weekend Sunday 10th May 2.00 – 7.00pm. Local church choir will hold a ‘Songs of Praise’ at the mill 5.00 -7.00 pm. Everyone welcome. Contact Mrs D Nicholson. Telephone 01692 672155.

Boardman's Drainage Mill

This open-framed timber trestle drainage mill with miniature cap, sails, fantail and turbine is situated on the east bank of the River Ant at How Hill and is visible at all times from the river and public footpath.

Clayrack Drainage Mill

Situated 200 metres north of Boardman's Mill and visible at all times from the river and public footpath. This unique hollow post drainage mill has a full set of patent sails which drive a scoop wheel. Major repair works are under way and the mill sails have been removed.

Gunton Park Sawmill

This extremely rare water-powered sawmill will be open to visitors and working on 4th Sunday in the month, April - September inclusive 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Please telephone 01603 222705 for confirmation. Members of The Norfolk Industrial Archaeology Society will be running the waterwheels and sawing timber on the open days. Volunteers to help work the mill are welcome.
